Terms and Conditions
In asking us to proceed with a proofreading or copy editing review of your document or to provide a transcription of an audio or video file, you accept our terms of service.
Please review all of the points below before submitting documents or files in their entirety to us for such purposes.
Please note that our services should not be relied upon to verify facts. We accept no responsibility for any factual errors in any document or file that you submit to us for review. In sending documents or files to us, you accept that you are responsible for the accuracy of all facts contained within them.
All views and opinions expressed in documents and files are those of the author(s) and/or speaker(s) and do not necessarily reflect the position of SG ProofEdits.
In submitting documents or audio/video files in their entirety, or in instructing us to proceed with a review of your CV, you accept the price quoted to you for employing one of our services. You agree to pay 100% of this price prior to the proposed return date. In all cases, documents are not returned until 100% of the payment has been received. SG ProofEdits is not responsible for any bank fees or any other charges that you may incur by using online transfers.
You also accept that documents are returned to you on or before the completion date specified in your quote, but no later. In the unlikely event of us failing to return documents by a specified date, compensation is issued for any inconvenience caused. You must submit documents or files in their entirety on or before the date we invite you to do so to help us achieve this aim. This date will also be highlighted in your personal quote. Failure to submit by this date will render the quotation void.
We aim to issue quotes within 24 hours of receiving your email.
An additional fee will be charged for providing a clean version of your document. This is the equivalent of an extra 25% of the price quoted for our services. Your personalised quote will detail all charges.
Academic clients are advised to seek guidance from their place of education before employing any of our services. Failure to declare the involvement of a third party in preparing an essay or dissertation, for example, may be deemed unethical and incite plagiarism concerns.
Providing details of special instructions is not compulsory; the copy editing service still identifies any inconsistencies in style. SG ProofEdits accepts no responsibility for any shortcomings due to failure to instruct us of any special instructions, or in failing to act on any of the suggestions we recommend.
Working to tighter deadlines incurs the higher rates for services employed. Your personalised quote will confirm these, as well as the date of return.
In submitting documents or files in their entirety, you accept all charges detailed in your quote. You also accept that documents are returned to you on or before the date specified, but no later. In the unlikely event of SG ProofEdits failing to return documents by this date, compensation is issued for any inconvenience caused. Any of the additional charges issued for services will be refunded.
A copy of the document we return to you is kept on file for a period of four weeks. During this time, you have the right to contact us for further clarification on any of the amendments we suggest. After this period, you accept that we remove the document from storage and that you may no longer contact us for further discussion in relation to it.
